waiting on the day

live your life with eyes wide open.
enjoy roadtrips, afternoon light, quiet moments, everyday places, nice weather and snow.
enjoy the end and new beginnings, thowing your plans away to help others.
enjoy days without wifi and music you never thought you'd like, imperfections and the everyday.
stop waiting for the days to come, because they are here.
they are here.
here they are.

Your pictures always give me a sense of comfort, home, peace, and wonder at the glorious, sometimes quiet beauty of the world around us. Your list of gratitudes is lovely!

Do you edit your photos? Is that how you get them to look all old fashion like? They look great!

Enjoyed the perspective in the photos. Do you still have snow? Just about all of ours was gone, but it snowed again last night.

Powerfully beautiful reminder. I hate that I constantly seem to struggle with slowing down and not working or thinking about work pretty much 24/7. I can certainly expel the virtues of doing do to others until the cows come home, but I'm rarely much good at taking my own advice, yet do find that messages like this from dear online friends really can help, so I sincerely thank you for posting it, dear Abigail.

Have a serenely lovely weekend,
♥ Jessica

Beautiful post and beautiful photos - they have such a vintage feel to them, and look straight out of the 70s or 80s.And I love the text that has accompanied this post. It is so important to live life with intention and to stop away from the computer sometimes!

Hi, dear Abigail! I'm back from my blogging break and very happy to be reunited with two of my favorite people in the world, namely you and Daisy. You dispensed very good advice in this post. I am reminded of a "broken play" in a football game. When the planned play needs to be abandoned for whatever reason and the quarterback is flushed out of the pocket and forced to improvise, the resulting gain is sometimes spectacular. Some of the greatest and most memorable experiences of my life have taken place when I threw away the play book and did something completely spontaneous. We tend to hold ourselves back and thereby forfeit exciting and rewarding experiences because we form a distorted (negative) mental picture of what they would be like. Sometimes they turn out to be the exact opposite of what we thought they would be.

These pictures of sweet little Daisy melt my heart. Thank you, dear friend Abigail. I also want to thank you for the kind words you left for me as I departed for my new home a couple of weeks ago. Enjoy the rest of your week and may God bless.

There truly no limit to the importance that should be placed on savouring the here and now. It's human nature to dream and strive for goals of tomorrow, but that doesn't mean we need to sacrifice every last "here and now" for their sake. Like moves fast, too fast really, and before we know, it's gone. Now, more then ever, in this hyper high tech, constantly on the go, over stressed society with need insightful messages like yours here to remind us how amazing and necessary it to be content with the very moment and the incredible gift that it is.

NO I HAVEN'T BEEN READING ALL OF YOUR POSTS WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. Our life passes so quickly, one day to the next, and it's hard to live it sometimes. What a gift...to know that the little things mean just as much as the big things.
