it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

i hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
i sure did.
i love to celebrate with family
and eat a lot.
until the holiday is over
i find myself averting my eyes from anything Christmas
trying to blog out carols
and suppressing any Christmas spirit inside of me.
(i LOVE Christmas,
but just want to give each season it's due time)
but the day after thanksgiving, all of that changes.
i don't shop on black friday.
i decorate.

Hi, dear Abigail! I't great to know you had a happy Thanksgiving. I think it's terrific that you focus on one holiday at a time and don't jump ahead. Heck, if we start thinking about Christmas around Halloween or even earlier as many people do, we run the risk of getting tired of it before it arrives. Doing it your way gives you just the right amount of time to decorate and get into peak spirit by the 25th.

What a great idea it was to post a Bing Crosby holiday classic for us to play while we scroll down and experience these marvelous pictures of yours. I love your experimental techniques. I haven't seen any other blogger who presents such interesting compositions. The shots of you holding strings of lights are pure magic and I almost cried when I saw little Daisy's stocking. I hope you stuff it with all her favorite treats and toys. The final shot showing Daisy bathed in festive light is breathtaking. I'm sure Daisy enjoys all the excitement of Christmas as much as my Toto did.

Thank you for another fabulous and very creative post, dear friend Abigail. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I love your photos! They're all so festive! I'm thrilled to see that the Christmas season has finally begun. Your dog is adorable! Her name is Daisy, right? Lovely post, Abigail! <3

Christmas lights galore, YAY! Finally oh my butterfly, I've been waiting for Christmas since July. You're dedicated, getting your decorations up nice and early right after Thanksgiving! SW and I only put our tree up so far and haven't even made any decorations yet, but this makes us wanna work our butts off filling it with garlands and ornaments.

Agreed entirely. I love and eagerly welcome each new season and holiday, but I don't want to start celebrating them too far in advance. Giving them their due, and you so perfectly put it, is my stance as well. Beautiful early glimpses of festivities on your end. I'd hoped to get my decor up this weekend, too, but came down with a cold (that Tony had developed first earlier in the week) and am going to have to wait a few more days probably now until I've got a touch more energy back.

I hope you're enjoying a marvelous last weekend of November, sweet dear.

Big hugs,
♥ Jessica

I love these photos! They have a real vintage vibe to them. I am a huge Christmas fan and I am so excited it's finally my favorite time of year! (Although I've been celebrating it since November 1st, shhh)

Love the Christmas tree gif. I'm like that too, with giving each holiday its due. I LOVE Thanksgiving, it's my favorite holiday, always has been. I'm just now trying to get into the swing of Christmas, it's been hard the past several years but my little bitty sure is making it fun again. :)

aw, your tenderness towards Daisy touches me. because of her puppy mill background, she does not seem to understand the concept of toys. it's almost funny how she just doen't know what to do with them. but treats... yes, she makes up for that with all the treats :)

yes, that's Daisy. we both thank you!

haha, maybe not dedicated, just excited. Merry Christmas!

That photo of the tree with the dancing lights is awesome, love it! We put our tree and decorations up on the weekend, still getting used to a Christmas the other side of the world, it feels weird!
