let's run not walk (through this beautiful life)

"I know, it feels like you need to get your life on track. I know, it feels like you should be further ahead. I know, it feels like you’re stuck in that rut. You want to get it together and get over the inadequacy, uncertainty, missed chances, and all the should’ve-beens.
Don’t beat yourself up about it. Pace yourself, relax your fists, make steps, and don’t run. Let the dream breathe. Should-be is still could-be, and though time is short, time is left. Your moment is any moment you say now."
- J. S.
"Choices will continually be necessary and – let us not forget – possible. Obedience to God is always possible. It is a deadly error to fall into the notion that when feelings are extremely strong we can do nothing but act on them."
- E. Elliot

I looked at everyone and wondered where they came from, and who they missed, and what they were sorry for.

- J. Foer

You're such a sweetheart, every time I read one of your blog, posts and look at your photographs, I make unnatural noises of appreciation and agreement. Also, that dress.

Hi again, dear Abigail! It's wonderful to see you again, gaze at your enigmatic pictures and find out what's on your mind. Today you offer powerful quotes and I find myself reading them over and over again in awe. The ones by Pastor Park are worth repeating as affirmations: "Let the dream breathe." "Your moment is any moment you say now." The discipline quote by Elisabeth Elliot reminds me of the South Carolina church shooter. "It is a deadly error to fall into the notion that when feelings are extremely strong we can do nothing but act on them." The third quote, I discovered, is taken from author Jonathan Safran Foer's book Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, the story of a boy who sets out to solve a mystery after his father is killed in the 9-11 terror attacks in NYC, a journey that takes him back in history, leads him to understanding and ultimately, to peace.

Thank you for blessing us with these thought provoking words and pictures, dear friend Abigail. Please take good care of yourself and dear little Daisy!

These photos definitely make me think of long summer evenings, where dusk seems to last for hours. Wonderful photos and wonderful words to go with them!

Let the dream breathe. Oh, how I needed these words. I get so angry and tired, so afraid of everything. But could it be, I don't need my fears at all? Praise God. Praise His beautiful name.

That quote by J.S. is just the encouragement I needed. There are times when I really feel stuck and not where I should be in life. It's a comfort to think that there's still time and I just have to push forward!

Oh how that last quote in particular applies to me. I often study/read strangers, picking up unspoken clues about their life in how they go about their day, what their eyes say, the heaviness they seem to carry on their shoulders. It's almost as if I can place myself in their shoes for a few moments, before they keep walking and my mind turns to the next soul to pass me by.

Beautiful post and images, sweet Abigail. Have a resplendent first weekend of summer.

♥ Jessica
