THE SUNSET PROJECT - WEEK 27

the season of summer is beginning to die out,
the evening air is much cooler
and each night the sun sits a bit farther to the south.
in summertime, the sun sets in the northwest
in winter, the southwest.
see sunday's picture below?
the sun was right between the middle tree and the trees on the left.
in june it's to the right of the tree in the middle.
in winter it's over a clear field
all the way around the left clump of trees.

another thing;
i'm making these pictures earlier and earlier in the day now.
no more 9:00pm bike rides for the sunset,
it's around 8:20 now.
(noooo summer, don't go)

Hi, Abigail! You're right. The days are noticeably shorter now. Here in Florida I notice that the mornings are slightly cooler, signaling pleasant changes to come. It always made me sad to see summer end but now that I'm living so far south I look forward to fall and winter. You are the kind of person who celebrates each new season and I know you will soon be getting into the spirit as the seasons change in your part of the country and Labor Day leads to Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

While I was away I missed seeing your skies. I love the red, orange and gold swirls present on Sunday and Monday and the oil painting splendor of Wednesday's and Friday's pictures. Tuesday's cloud formation makes me think that Zorro rode by and slashed his signature "Z" across the heavens.

Happy Monday to you, dear Abigail. See you soon, my very special friend!

Stunning! We rarely have clouds and thus, rarely have sunsets that look that amazing.

These are really some of the best sunset pictures you've ever posted. August 6th and August 8th are just beautiful. I totally get what you're saying about summer and everything; it seems like it's going by so quickly!

Thanks, i like these, too. there were some storm clouds that hung around and i used the vivid color setting on my camera and that's how it came out. i love it when it comes together like that!

Usually for me, summer seems to drag on and on, but this year it feels like it only just started!
