for winter's come and gone

the sun now shines with warmth and favor
my feet are bare
the wind tugs at my dress
the air is laced with the delightful perfume only the early flowers bring

"for winter's come and gone
a little bird told me so"

dress from this pattern
(made sleeves different just for kicks)

That's a beautiful song, dear Abigail, and I suspect you have sung it yourself while pickin' your banjo. People of all ages, especially the young, can learn a lot from your blog. You are teaching all of us how to be mindful of and fully appreciate life's simple pleasures, like going barefoot for the first time in spring or sitting quietly on the porch with your dog soaking up the warm rays of the sun. Daisy greets every new day of life with joy and enthusiasm. We can learn from her, too.

Isn't it wonderful to kiss winter goodbye? :) Your post just captures the earliest days of spring perfectly, and that's such a lovely dress! It hasn't quite been warm enough here yet to go barefoot, but I think we're getting there!

Cheers,
Jenny

Ahhh, the sweet, gentle first rays of springtime sunshine. So pale and fresh - like the first snow of winter only in light form. I'm savouring what little of it we're getting here so far this as though it were water in a desert. My soul feels so parched (from winter's chill) and in need of every last drop of it.

Lovely, classic dress - your bare feet make it all the more charming (and make me think, you know, I don't believe I've gone barefoot in an outfit post yet - something to think about doing this summer).

Big hugs & many thanks for your splendid comment on today's outfit post (we are certainly blessed to live in such a gorgeous, lake filled corner of Canada),

♥ Jessica

Frilly, pale pink blossoms, with delicate young leaves are the sure signs that Spring has sprung! You look like a fresh new leaf yourself in that pretty green frock. You must be so happy with the warm weather, just as I am! Glad to see your little friend with you enjoying the sun.

Blessings in Christ,

I can tell just from the little bit I've seen, that I'd love your home. :) And I wish it were warm enough to go barefoot other than inside the house.

How lovely that you are now experiencing the warmer weather! It must be so refreshing to feel the sun on your skin and be able to walk around barefoot. You look just so lovely in these pictures. Dresses like these suit you like they were created for you. Daisy looks just adorable too!

Thank you so very much, Lucy! how sweet of you. While its warming up here in the states, i'm sure summer must be winding down and cooler weather coming to your area. Such changes are invigorating and refreshing

Don't you just love old buildings/ homes? I just adore them. It really hasn't been all that warm here either, but it hasn't been frigid cold and thats enough for me :)

i did make it, thanks! It was actually quite easy, even easier than i expected it to be and came together quite quickly last fall. thanks for stopping by :)

Isn't it wonderful how the sun just awakens or soul? I'm glad its getting warmer for you there.
Also, i think you'll find it quite easy and liberating taking pictures without shoes. (It wasn't actually that warm at all when i took these images, but it was over freezing so i went for it) :-)
