sew day snow day

pattern: simplicity 1459
(also seen here)

made this one a little cold weather friendly
hence the longer sleeves and dark print.

when there is a snow event
my family just stays at home with movies and food.
i'm glad that winter decided to return, even for a bit.
is it alright to be a little bit sad that it is march and warm weather is coming?

Hi, dear Abigail! It's great to see you back with another post and to see this lovely outfit you made on your snow days. I think it looks absolutely beautiful on you and I know all your sewing girlfriends will agree. I am also delighted to see that your pictures expand to macro size enabling a close-up look of your handiwork. I remember you telling us that you prefer winter and I know you must regret the fact that it's on the run and spring is coming. I can't help wondering if Daisy loves the snow and cold as much as you do.

Once again, you look dazzling in this super smart dress, dear friend Abigail. Enjoy the rest of your week!

What a lovely dress! The print is perfect. And I'm terribly jealous of your snow day. lol I spent mine at work.

Forever amazed at your sewing skills. I love that you're you, unapologetically. Also, I'd be interested, if you're interested in doing this, in a playlist of some of the old soul songs/artists you like. I have a hard time knowing where to begin.

Not at all. We all have the right to welcome or feel blue by the changing of the seasons. Though not overly common, I have had tail ends of winter before like that as well, especially prior to installing central air in our current abode (in 2013). It's beautiful that you're making the best of this season and the return of icy weather while it's still here.

And speaking of gorgeous things, your newly created dress is such a classic, terrific piece. I love the perpetually elegant mix of black and white at work on it and the charming shawl collar. Awesome sewing job, dear gal!

Big hugs,
♥ Jessica

thanks. i don't listen to a whole lot of soul music but i'd love to help. i've been making playlists on 8tracks .com which is cool cuz you can search by music genre tags for whatever you need to hear. let me know if thats kinda what you're looking for or not.

Your dress is beautiful Abigail! The print, combined with the belt, is so pretty! I am sort of sad that warm weather is coming too, just because we haven't had enough snow to go sledding until the past few weeks, and we've only been able to go sledding with friends once! But, I'll probably be glad for Spring once it comes.

Is it bad that I'm excited that it's starting to get a bit colder here?
Winter just looks beautiful, I mean we never get snow but no more sunburn, and I can wear pretty dresses and coats!

Looks gorgeous Abigail! xx
