~ about ~
The Sunset Project

Here is some thing I've been working on for a few years now, off and on.

Basically, I take a picture of the sunset every night.
It's a bit more complicated than that, as winter and spring has lots of cloud cover and in fall the sky is bare, so I like to challenge myself.
But yes, I like to take a picture of the western sky, every night, roughly around the time
of actual sun set.

I have decided to share the pictures on here every week or so, other than them just become random files on an old flash drive.

If, in the coming weeks, you do not wish to see these or click on the post, that's fine, I understand this can be boring for some.
This is mostly for me.  It has become a delightful habit and almost a form of therapy.

If you do like this, enjoy.
Here are some of my favorites from over the years:

I will never find you, your blog or your pictures boring, dear Abigail. I love to examine photographs and this study in sunsets is a great idea because no two are the same. You have captured some brilliant colors and cloud formations and I thank you for sharing them!

I hope you had a nice weekend and wish you (and Daisy) a safe and happy week ahead, dear friend!

I think that's a great idea for a project! I never get bored of looking at sunsets and I think its so interesting how different they can look from day to day. I can't wait to see more!

It's a million miles away from boring, dear gal. Nature is a many splendid thing and worthy of being captured on camera day in and day out.

What an interesting idea! I know I love to take a picture of an occasional sunset, but you must really be dedicated and love it to continue to do so even on cloudy days. That picture from 11/25/2010 is so beautiful - those clouds make it feel like it's another world!
