THE SUNSET PROJECT - WEEK 48

already its a new year
time to clean up the Christmas decorations
get back to school
and somehow break my constant candy eating
which is what happens during the holidays.
i haven't really been eating any meals
just grazing on pie and cookies all day.

came in from the very warm, rainy south
and back in Kansas it was snowing like crazy.
late Christmas gifts are the best :)

happiest new year, folks

Hi, dear Abigail, and happy new year to you and Daisy! I suspected that you were doing some traveling again. With the polar vortex plunging down over the eastern two-thirds of the nation, you'd have to go pretty far south to find "very warm" conditions this week. Even here in my part of Florida we are expecting the low to reach the upper 30s and the wind chill index to dip into the 20s Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

Isn't it fascinating how different the sunsets look now that it's winter time? The land, the trees and the critters are all hunkered down, bracing against the cold, conserving energy, resting and waiting to come alive again in the spring. Speaking of "critters," I already mentioned this to you on my blog, but I know you share my sadness over the loss of Donna Douglas who played Elly May Clampett on The Beverly Hillbillies. Donna passed away new year's day, but we will always remember her as the fresh, innocent, critter loving country girl she portrayed for so long on the much loved series.

Once again, happy new year to you and Daisy and to your whole family, dear friend!

Lovely first photo! Your eating style sounds like mine after the holidays...and on weekends!

Oh, and shall I mention...I just went to the dentist's office and got a clean bill of health for my teeth! I hadn't been there in 5 years or so and there still wasn't a single cavity, just one spot where I'd worn the filling out. Considering how much I eat in the way of sweets, I think I'm blessed!

Such a change in the skies! I love Monday and Wednesday most, beautiful. And my days after Christmas usually consist of candy grazing too!

I thought about you last night because the sunset was so pretty. I was hoping you would continue this project into the new year!
I'm ready for this crummy Kansas weather to come to an end. Too many cloudy dark days recently. I'm ready for sunshine and a little warmth!
