sometimes books translate my thoughts 2

things I've been thinking about writing about
but then i read them.

"Maybe that was it, that i was a reading person, or a mini adult or an old soul, because i just never got the rules of high school.  It all seemed silly.  All the big emotion and drama and all the gushy love and the spitting hate and the lip gloss reapplied and reapplied and reapplied in the smudgy mirrors of the girl's bathroom.  ...I tried to be a part of it all, but inside i knew i was only faking."

"I forgot my camera and had to go back upstairs to get it.  Not taking my camera was the same as going shopping when you don't have money.  You go shopping without money and you see a ton of things you can't live without.   You have money and... nothing.  Going somewhere without my camera meant i was sure to see a hundred things i wanted to capture but that would be forever lost."

"Because life is short and God is in control,
there is no reason to be bitter when someone hurts you."

I love the quote about going someplace without your camera because that's definitely how I feel lately. I feel like I left a piece of myself behind when I don't take it with me!

Good evening, dear Abigail & Daisy! I also enjoyed these quotes. I have a feeling that you never leave the house without your camera. It would be terribly frustrating for you if you ventured out and encountered dozens of natural and man made subjects but had no way of capturing them for us.

High school seemed silly to me, too. I quietly laughed to myself all the way through it because there were so many rules and so many teachers and students with an inflated sense of their own importance.

My good friend, 102 year old Margaret Schneider, "The Oldest Living Dell Rat," would agree with the third quote and point to it as one of the keys to her longevity. Whatever is eating at you, let go of it. If somebody does you wrong, don't dwell on it. Get over it, If you suffer great loss, have faith that time heals all wounds. Take it easy.

Lighten up while you still can
don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand
and take it easy - The Eagles

Good night, dear friend. You and Daisy have a happy Friday and a safe and happy weekend!

I agree with the quote about how silly high school seemed. That's why I was so glad that I never went to high school

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me what book this was oh my goodness I feel like bells are ringing and stuff inside my head. That second quote rung especially true for me too, but that first one--I just don't hear that kind of thing from other people often enough to know I'm not the only one who feels like so many people are just acting too big and showy, kind of?

" and the lip gloss reapplied and reapplied and reapplied in the smudgy mirrors of the girl's bathroom." hahaha oh, so true.

Very neat shots of the negative with the lamp and globe...and I really like that bird alone on the wire.

Is it happenstance or fate (or a mix of both) when this happens? One can only guess, but I know precisely what you mean, having experienced it myself many times. I love when it happens. There's a warm glow of a feeling that comes over you and your suddenly get this sense that the universe "gets you" and knows you needed to read your feelings/thoughts quite literally spelled out for you. Often reading what someone else has to say on a given subject helps you find the words (or formulate the thoughts) to express your own sentiments about something with a certain ease and joy that wouldn't have been there otherwise. That, after all, being so much of the powerful root of inspiration.

Aah, that happens sometimes, doesn't it? I don't even bother reading books that don't reel me in before the first chapter or so ends, but I know sometimes I'm just like, "WOW that is a beautiful line" and then I'm sad that I don't actually care to keep reading the rest of the book because it's just not as good!

Yes, me too! I read books which seem to illustrate perfectly what I am thinking. Sometimes it's really nice to be able to better understand that emotion that you couldn't put a finger on before. And those maps are extremely cool. I put a globe in my room to get that effect. :)
