The Sunset Project- Week 20

this past week i saw a picture of a pretty sunset online,
and she had captioned it;
"presents from the sky"
which i think is a great way to put it.
i don't do anything to deserve bright sunshine or watercolor wisps of clouds.
it is a brilliant yet everyday gift from my Maker.

yesterday, i was in the city visiting at a hospital.
hospitals are well lit, clean and the walls and floors are light colors,
but yet hospitals are so dark.
where are the windows?
the sunlight?
i'm sure that patients, workers and family would all feel so much better
if strong, amber patches of sun and brilliant blue sky were frequent.
the world's not allowed to be as sad and depressing when we're letting sunlight bathe our faces
appreciating  presents from the sky.

Hi, Abigail! I totally agree with you. People need to be exposed to natural sunlight for health, happiness and well being. I have visited the homes of sad, depressed people and, invariably, they keep the curtains and blinds drawn so that the interior of the house is very dark, the rationale being that they can see their television and video games better. At what cost? If only they would open their houses and see the light they wouldn't be so sad and depressed.

Monday's sunset seems to show the Maker's handwriting across the sky, perhaps delivering the same message you have in this post. Thursday's picture invites me to turn it upside down and pretend that I am on a strange, remote island paradise where where red, orange and yellow ocean waves break and sweep up the bright blue sand on a beach. Can you imagine it?

Thank you very much, dear friend Abigail, for presenting another terrific batch of sunsets and giving us something important to remember. Let there be light.

June 19 really is spectacularly beautiful! Wow that orange!
I agree regarding the hospitals, sunlight has been proven to help people with depression so surely it would help people in hospital greatly to see a little sun through their window.

These photos, ripe and rich with colour and evocative shades of light are just what my mind needed this morning. It seems that a lot of folks are in less than pleasant moods as summer kicks off for some reason and/or coming out of the woodwork with complaints lately and their dispositions are getting my chipper one down. It's time to regroup my thoughts, meditate with images like these, and make sure that every day of this summer is upbeat and wonderful (well, in so much as anyone can make such happen).

Hugs & joyful Tuesday wishes,

♥ Jessica

My goodness, the sky is on fire on June 19th, however my favorite shot has to be the last one, but mostly for that lone tree on the horizon. Presents from the sky, indeed, but also beautiful reminders of what a gift each day is.

I think that's a perfect caption for something as beautiful as a sunset.
And I agree that hospitals are too depressing, and honestly, I bet that everyone who has the misfortune of having to rest in a hospital doesn't want to be there. It isn't fair to them that they can't even experience something as simple as a sunset.
Not to mention, of course, that sunsets for 16th, the 19th, and the 21st are brilliant :).

that second shot is perfection.

Thursday's sky looks incredible! What a great description; "Presents from the sky". I love it, and I agree with you. I think it would be much nicer if hospitals had nicer views and more natural lighting.

That is a wonderful description of a sunset! I love the first photo how it's out of focus, and also number three, how wide and open the landscape is!
