This is an especially beautiful set of natural watercolors, dear Abigail. The artist never paints the exact same thing twice, does He? Yesterday's sky looked rather menacing but it is nevertheless a pleasure to behold. The words you chose to introduce this series of sunsets are equally inspiring. If more people would pause as you do and take a minute to read the stories told by the sky, they would experience joy and peace. Yet, most of us remain immersed in our daily routines oblivious to the celestial wonders that look down upon us from above.
Thank you for these marvelous images, dear friend Abigail. I wish you and Daisy a very happy week ahead!
Beautiful photos. A gentleman I work with told me once that his mother used to tell him that every day, even the dreary days, were beautiful because the sky is always different. It's always a different wonder to behold, and you capture that very well in these photos. I especially like April 7th's. :)
Wow, these are stunning photographs! I love how different and unique each one is from day to day. I think the photo from Monday is my favorite, but they are all so lovely.
Thank you very much, Katie. i enjoy the uniqueness of them as well. laying them all out here on my blog helps me appreciate that. i think Monday is my favorite, too.
You're welcome, and thank you for the kind words. i'll be the first to admit that pausing to appreciate creation is not something i've always done and is easy to miss. I even sometimes wish i did more, for when we do, it is truly fulfilling :)
that's an interesting thought...what would sunsets say if they could speak... I often fantasize about the moon being a "thinking" and live being... watching us sleep, seeing our dreams, whispering sweet words into our ears to send nightmares away... sometimes I wish there was magic in this world..much more magic... lovely photos... ..and thanks for your comment on my blog, I appreciate it! ..really ...take care, xoxo Ivette
That is a truly beautiful way to think of sunsets. I agree and wish that they could spill their tales. Perhaps because I'm a perptual night owl, but I've seen far more gorgeous sunsets than rises in my days and there are some that spoke so powerfully to my soul that their memory will linger forever. Those that were seared red from the smoke of forest fires really stand out in that regard, as does the stunning pink, orange and purple one that graced the evening of my wedding day.
Goodness, this post is gorgeous!! I adore sunsets--they just have a certain wistful feeling about them. I would've never thought of taking a picture of a sunset each day, and what you wrote was both lovely and thought-provoking. Next time I watch a sunset, I will most definitely wonder what tales it could tell me.
